In our mind, if you have not yet experienced an Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, you have not yet tasted real, genuine coffee.

Ethiopia claims coffee is its gift to the world. In fact, there is a consensus among historians and botanists that coffee is indigenious to Ethiopia . . . . . . It is in the experience of the Coffee Ceremony, however, that we realize the real power of Ethiopian coffee. One, two and sometime even three times a day, the mother of the Ethiopian houshold invites the family and neighbours for "buuna" (coffee). This is a special time when people are bound together and transcend their daily life. (From Taste of Ethiopia, Merkato Market, 1991)
